EGR LiveA few of the team from Bingo Hideout have been allowed to escape from Bingo Hideout HQ to attend this year’s EGR Live gaming event which takes place at Old Billingsgate in London (and before anyone even hints at it, no –  it isn’t an excuse for a jolly on company expenses).  The EGR Live event is put on by EGaming Review, and brings together all the great and the good from the online bingo and gaming industry under one roof for some serious networking, interesting conferences and some pretty  influential industry guest speakers and of course the obligatory back slapping after at the EGR awards ceremony.

The EGR awards 2009 took place this evening (30th November) and had some pretty big names shortlisted for awards and from all walks of e-gaming life including casino, poker, sports betting and of course bingo.  Bingo operators that are shortlisted are of course the seemingly omnipresent Foxy Bingo ’s home Cashcade, Gamesys Jackpot Joy, William Hill Bingo, tombola Bingo, Ladbrokes Bingo and Spacebar Media with Wink Bingo. Tombola has been nominated for no less than three awards including Innovation of the Year for their popular Bingo Roulette game. At time of writing we didn’t have news of winners, but will no doubt report back with further information as and when we manage to sober up those present to find out all the nitty gritty!

During the first day of the EGR event there were some really interesting seminars for delegates to attend, one even featured the ex-Dragon’s Den entrepreneur and millionaire Doug Richard.  Another seminar which was particularly interesting for the gathered delegates was the CEO Panel, this had the likes of William Hill, Ladbrokes and Betfair sharing the top table to discuss their views on subjects such as how the recession has affected the gaming industry, International legislation changes and emerging markets. The panel provided an informative discussion and opened the floor to questions from the full house of delegates at the end of the seminar.  Day two of the conference starts at 9.00am tomorrow 1st December with a panel which includes Foxy Bingo’s Director Simon Collins .
