Ladbrokes Bingo Invites You to Play Eurovision Bingo

altLove it or hate it – there’s no escaping the annual Eurovision Song Contest…. unless you’re out of the country, or hiding behind the sofa with your fingers in your ears, etc. This year, the event spans several days, with the first and second semi-finals having already taken place on Tuesday, 14th and Thursday, 16th May, and the grand final taking place live tonight – Saturday, 18th May 2013.

You might well be wondering what many people consider the ultimate TV nightmare or secret guilty pleasure has to do with bingo, in which case you can point the finger of blame at Ladbrokes.

Yes, one of the UK’s favourite online gaming sites has come up with a way to make several hours of cheesy pop more palatable to your ears. The brains at Ladbrokes Bingo have come up with a specially-designed bingo card that you can tick off as the evening progresses. While you might not win any prizes for getting a full house or one/two-line win, you could well find the whole experience a lot more fun as you see whether “Graham Norton Makes an Awful Bonnie Tyler ‘Hero’ Gag,” and whether the poor old “UK Gets Nil Points.” Do you reckon that “Ireland will finish above the UK”, or perhaps you think an act “Involves Food in their Routine”?

The good news is that our very own UK entry, Bonnie Tyler, is still in the running and will be performing in 15th place tonight, so look out for her featuring on your Ladbrokes Bingo card. At the time of writing this article, Ladbrokes were only offering 33/1 on the United Kingdom taking the Eurovision title, whilst a firm favourite at 4/6 is the Denmark Entry – “Only Teardrops” sung by Emmelie De Forest. Some say, however, that Bonnie could be a dark horse as an already well-established singer, with hits such as “Hero” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart” tucked under her belt. She’s not the first home-grown celebrity to enter the contest either, with the likes of boy-band Blue, Jedward, Jordan, Engelbert Humperdinck, Michael Ball, Sonia, and Katrina and the Waves having previously entered.

Will you be glued to the box tonight watching the Eurovision unfold? Perhaps you’ll be logging in to play at your favourite bingo site instead? Do any of you think that Bonnie Tyler will romp home in first place, and secure a UK win for the first time since 1997?
