altPlaying online bingo is always great fun, but it feels even better when you know that your money spent on game cards is going to a good cause. That’s exactly what you’ll find at one of the U.K.’s newest charity bingo sites, that’s been set up by a 71-year-old pensioner called Wendy Hubbard. Mycharitybingo.com has been recently launched in conjunction with JustGiving, and enables players to enjoy great games, as well as raise money for their favourite charities. Wendy came up with the idea with her son, who works in the online gaming industry. Back in the 80s and 90s, she worked as a fundraiser for The Arthritis and Rheumatism Council (ARC), and was recognised with an award for her service and achievements. However, she had to take a back seat in the late 90s, when she was diagnosed with health problems.

Her new venture is integrated with the JustGiving platform, meaning that new players can pick from over 8,000 registered charities to support, as well as their friends’ fundraising pages, or the chosen charity of the month. Unlike some sites, a high percentage of the money spent by members goes directly to good causes, with 75p out of every £1 deposited being received by the charity. If you’re wondering where the other 25p goes, that goes to good use too as it helps to cover the running of the 24-hour customer support service, and server costs.

The software and technology platforms used by Mycharitybingo.com is provided free of charge by Swedish company, Functionalgames, and Canadian-based Abberant Software.

As well as 90-ball and 75-ball bingo, costing from 10p to £1 per ticket, players can also enjoy a range of popular casino games, like slots, scratch cards, video poker, blackjack, pontoon, keno, and Hi-Lo games.

When we popped over to visit the site, we were pretty impressed with what we saw. At the time, there were over 350 players online, all busily dabbing for jackpots worth as much as £5,000 or more. It’s very easily to navigate your way around, and new members can take advantage of a £10 no-deposit bonus, and 100% on their first deposit, up to the value of £200.

So, if you’re a bingo-lover who wants to give something back, you’ve now got an additional choice alongside the likes of BingoGiving, BigHeartBingo, and RehabBingo.

What do you think about Wendy Hubbard’s new venture? Would you like to see more online charity bingo sites like this?
