World Champion boxer Froch would rather play bingo

Carl FrochThis weekend saw an interesting article in the People which stated that British World Champion boxer Carl Froch would rather be visiting his local Top Spot social club in Nottingham to play bingo with his mum, than attend any of the glitzy red carpet do’s that he is often invited to.  Froch admits that although defending his WBC super-middleweight title doesn’t faze him the thought of parading on a red carpet with his girlfriend and having lots of media attention does.

Carl Froch is at the moment our only boxing World Champion since Ricky Hatton was knocked off his pedestal in the Manny Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas.  Carl recently did a good job of defending his WBC super-middleweight title against Jermain Taylor last month, but was not unfortunately given the Live UK television coverage that a British World Champion should have.  The bingo loving Froch is now hoping however that as he has ‘proved himself’ to be a worthy champ that his next fight will take place on home turf.  In fact Froch is keen to fight IBF Champion Lucian Bute in Nottingham, and if The People article is to be believed it will be no doubt so he can squeeze in his bingo games with his mum in between training!

Which celebs are hiding in your bingo hall?

Of course Carl Froch is not the only celebrity who is a big fan of bingo, Sharon Osbourne famously liked the Gala Bingo site so much that she featured on she wanted her own online bingo site, Yvette Fielding chose to have her recent hen party in her local Mecca Bingo hall and Denise Van Outen likes nothing more than to trawl the Essex bingo clubs for the chance of that elusive big jackpot win.  Why not send a message into Bingo Hideout and tell us which celebrities are hiding out in your local bingo club. We are sure there are plenty wearing false beards and glasses when they go to their local bingo halls.  But our bingo loving celebs need not worry about being ‘papped’ at the bingo, because everyone who goes only has a particular type of paper on their mind and its not from an autograph book …….. it’s of course bingo tickets!
