Recently, XBingo announced that it will be temporarily unavailable whilst it re-brands as BGO.com. If you’ve ever played at the site, you might well be wondering what’s going on, so we’ve set about to give you some answers.
Back in March 2012, the Mandalay Media Group (who own Costa, XBingo, Fancy, Sing, and City) changed their name to BGO Entertainment. At the time, the company (which operates from England, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, and Spain) also purchased a number of domain names. These included bgo.com, bgocorporate.com, bgoent.com, bgojobs.com, bgoworld.com. Rumour was rife that they would also be launching a number of gaming sites: bgobingo.com, bgoslots.com, bgopoker.com, bgobet.com, and bgosports.com.
Whilst the ‘old’ Mandalay Media Group was well-known for its bingo sites, it appeared that they were also planning to muscle in on the sports-betting, online poker and casino markets. However, the five game-specific sites mentioned above currently appear to be forwarding to temporary landing pages.
Although the new BGO Entertainment group have taken bgoworld.com as their company website address, the recent XBingo announcement indicates that they will be taking over bgo.com. However, it seems as though bgo.com will offer plenty more than just bingo. A mail-shot we received in October advises that the new site will be filled with “many more games, channels, promotions and jackpots,” and host “considerably more games than just bingo.”
Currently, xbingo.com (as well as bgo.com) displays an ‘offline’ page and a request to, “please bear with us – we’re upgrading.” There’s no date stated for when we’re likely to see its return, but it does mention that there’ll be more free bingo games, a new loyalty system, better bonuses and a new Las Vegas-style slots area.
If you’re after a sneaky peek of what bgo.com will look like, visit the URL, and you’ll find three small screenshots at the bottom of the page. Unfortunately, you can’t zoom in to get a really good look, but you can make out that there are now sections for Bingo, Vegas, Casino, Macau, Sports and Lotto, plus an offer of £5 free when you register, and up to 20% cash-back every week.
If you’re a member of XBingo, they do state that you don’t need to worry, because all member accounts will be transferred over, along with any funds, to the new URL.
What do you think about this news? Are you looking forward to having a look at what the all-new site has to offer? We’re certainly dying to see it when its makeover is finally revealed!
