At a time when we keep hearing of bingo halls and in particular Gala Bingo halls suffering in the current recession it is particularly nice to report of a brand new Gala Bingo hall planned to be built. There is no news as yet, as to what the new Gala Bingo hall in Farnborough will be like, what size it is, how many people the new bingo hall venue will accommodate.
However what we can tell readers is that the new Gala Bingo hall will be built within a town centre regeneration programme planned for the Farnborough main shopping area which is expected to cost around £83m. As well as the new Gala Bingo hall leisure facility there is expected to be a Vue cinema, a new Sainsbury’s store, bar, restaurants, shops and a new Travelodge hotel.
The new Gala Bingo hall is all part of phase one of the redevelopment of Farnborough centre by Key Property Investments in partnership with Salhia Real Estate and St Modwen. The Farnborough Gala Bingo hall is expected to offer around 32,000 sq.ft of space and will be sited above the new Sainsbury’s store. The positioning of the new Gala Bingo seems to be ideal for those passing through and will hopefully generate lots of new members for the new bingo hall.
For an industry that seems to be struggling in the current economic crisis it is certainly a welcome change to talk about a new bingo hall with the addition of many jobs rather than the usual doom and gloom of closures. There is no news as yet of when the new bingo hall will be opened but the development of Farnborough is certainly moving full steam ahead and is reportedly going to include new shops and residential properties.
