Getting ‘jiggy with it’ results in ASBO and jail threat – Bingo Hideout

Mr & Mrs CartwrightBingo Hideout can’t believe that anyone could receive an ASBO for indulging in bedroom athletics with their husband, never mind be threatened with a jail sentence!  That however is exactly what has happened to 48 year old Caroline Cartwright, after receiving numerous complaints regarding her lovemaking – which is so loud that it has reached 47 decibels – the local council in Sunderland where forced into court action.  The threat of court action was not enough to deter the very vocal woman from making excessive noise when making love to her husband, and the howling banshee continued with her noisy bedtime antics.

Mrs Cartwright’s noise drowns out TV sets too

Mrs Cartwright was issued with an ASBO and even though she had gone through the humiliation of going to court the woman still did not tone down the noise sufficiently, which is said to be so loud that it will drown out the noise of neighbours television sets.

Cartwright in her defence had said that ‘I did not understand why people asked me to be quiet because to me it is normal. I didn’t understand where they were coming from,

”I have tried to minimise the situation by having sex in the morning – not at night – so the noise was not waking anybody.

”I may be sympathetic to it, but it is not something I am doing on purpose.”

Jail term suspended for one year

Her pleas however have fallen on deaf ears with the judge and she has been found guilty of breaching her sex ASBO order three times.  In light of her persistent offending the judge has now sentenced the woman to an eight week jail term which is currently suspended for a year.  However the judge has also ordered that should Mrs Cartwright reoffend then she will serve the sentence.

The Judge, Beatrice Bolton said in her summing up ‘An anti-social behaviour order was made against you in rather unusual terms,

”I’ve heard a very short extract of the noise you make and can well see that your neighbours would be upset and distressed by this.

”The difficulty here is that the first occurrence was the day following the order. Then three days later you breached it again”.

The story told on the BBC website brings all sorts of questions to mind, what on earth would cause any one to make so much noise and more importantly shouldn’t her husband wear ear defenders for health and safety reasons before attempting to initiate any bedroom action? What do the Bingo Hideout gang think – acceptable goings on or complete disregard for others, love to hear your comments!
